An integrated HIV and AIDS and tuberculosis centre has been commissioned in Kadoma’s Rimuka township.

The centre was once an anti-retroviral therapy follow-up facility before it was refurbished at a cost of US$30 000 and turned into an integrated opportunistic infections clinic.

Officially opening the facility, Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care Cde Aldrin Musiiwa said the move is in line with the sustainable development goal number 3 which focuses on good health for all.

He said communities should have easy access to HIV and AIDS and TB services, before calling on youths to avoid sexual activities that expose them to HIV infection.

Kadoma Town Clerk Mr Malvern Dondo said the HIV and TB centre is equipped with a gene expert machine for diagnosing TB.

Refurbishment of Tamuka Integrated HIV and AIDS and TB Centre was made possible through a partnership involving Kadoma City, Ministry of Health and a TB service provider, The Union.
