seed.jpgThe Presidential Special Well-Wishers Inputs Scheme has been hailed by beneficiaries as a noble and people driven initiative which will help people fight poverty and hunger.

The beneficiaries, who received two tonnes of Ammonium Nitrate fertiliser at Divaris Shopping Centre in Harare’s Belvedere suburb, applauded the initiative saying the fertiliser will go a long way in aiding their urban farming activities.

They said the fertiliser has come at the appropriate time when the rains have resumed.

Harare central one district chairman, Cde Abraham Samushonga who handed over the inputs urged the beneficiaries to utilise the fertiliser and get good yields.

Cde Samushonga later donated four bicycles to branch chairpersons whom he implored to use them for mobilisation purposes.

The Presidential Well-Wishers Inputs Scheme is a US$26 million fund spearheaded by the Head of State and Government and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe, to assist farmers after failure by the Finance Ministry to give enough support to agricultural initiatives.
