Injuries to Thelma Timire and Daisy Kaitano have forced a delay in the naming of an 18-member squad that will clash with Mozambique in the Womenâ€™s Under 20 World Cup qualifier set for this weekend at Rufaro Stadium.
Timireâ€™s knee injury and a hip problem for Kaitano forced the duo to sit out an afternoon training session though the technical department was confident the two will recover.
Young Mighty Warriorsâ€™ assistant coach, Sithethelelwe Sibanda, who spent the better part of this month gearing up for the tie, expressed confidence in the teamâ€™s ability to triumph.
Despite boasting of several regulars from the Mighty Warriors, Sibanda said they are wary of the consequences complacency could bring.
The Mozambique Under 20 team was scheduled to arrive in the capital this Thursday evening ahead of Sundayâ€™s crunch Womenâ€™s Under 20 World Cup qualifier.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe womenâ€™s football is set to unveil Marange Resources as their new sponsor at a ceremony to be held in Harare on Friday.
The package includes all womenâ€™s national teams as well as the National Womenâ€™s League.Â
