Indigenous churches in Zimbabwe are appealing to local authorities so that they can be availed land for building their worshiping infrastructure.

In an interview with ZBC News on the sidelines of indigenous churches workshop held recently in Gokwe Mapfungautsi, chairperson of the Federation of Indigenous Churches in Zimbabwe Bishop Gift Marufu bemoaned the amount being charged for worshiping land by local authorities.

“Our affiliate churches members are being marginalised in acquiring land as they fail even getting title deeds for church stands,” he said.

Other church leaders also said the local authorities should come up with reasonable prices that can be payable on affordable payment plan which is favourable to them.

Indigenous churches need to be empowered through freedom of worship in all provinces of the country as they play a critical role in nation building and praying for peace.
