harare.jpgGovernment has expressed concern over the continuous take over of business premises by foreigners at the expense of indigenous business people.

The Minister of Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Cde Savior Kasukuwere met the indigenous minority groups in the country to deliberate on the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act.

Cde Kasukuwere said the Act is meant to empower indigenous Zimbabweans in economic affairs hence the participation of everyone.

He however bemoaned the influx of foreign owned small retail business especially in the capital and said the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act will rectify it.

Senator Aguy Georgias who is also the Deputy Minister of Public Works said such gatherings should be held regularly to create a good relationship between the government and the community.

Affirmative Action Group Secretary General Mr. Tafadzwa Musarara who also attended the meeting urged Zimbabweans to read and

understand the act so as to direct their energies towards its implementation.

A number of issues on the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act were brought to the fore during the two hour discussion although it emerged that very few people have read the act.
