Local songstress Diana Samkange has released a song which chronicles the road which Zimbabwe has travelled towards indigenisation and empowerment.
The CD and DVD were presented to Zanu PF First Secretary and President, Cde Robert Mugabe at the 86th Ordinary Session of the Central Committee at the partyâ€™s headquarters.
The CD and DVD were presented by Zanu PFâ€™s Department of Indigenisation and Economic EmpowermentÂ to celebrate the indigenisation and empowerment policy in Zimbabwe.
Zanu PFâ€™s Secretary for Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere said the song is a musical masterpiece that is certain to inspire the nation.
“The message is basically to encourage and mobilise youths to take responsibility of the indigenisation exercise,” said Cde Kasukuwere.
An excited Diana Samkange who is famed for the song â€˜Kumagumo eRudoâ€™ hailed the success of her latest work which she said had been in the pipeline for some time.
“We have been working on this great track since last April and to finally have it on the airwaves is a dream come true not just for me but the entire team involved in the production. I hope everyone will enjoy the song as much as we enjoyed making it,â€ said Diana.
Diana Samkange used to sing with the group 2GB. The song â€˜Indigenisation: The last Chimurengaâ€™ was written by Professor Jonathan Moyo.
Samkange worked with renowned guitarist and vocalist, Isaac Chirwa, Jairosi Hamba Hamba. It was produced at Sunshine Studios.Â
