The first group of members of an Indian business delegation has arrived in the country to explore investment opportunities in all sectors of the economy with a view to improve trade relations between the two nations.

The much awaited first Indian business delegation to visit Zimbabwe this year is in the country to explore opportunities in the agriculture, manufacturing, energy and other sectors.

The visit will culminate in a business conference under the theme ‘Partnership for Growth.’

It is anticipated the conference will be a platform for decision makers both in the private and public sector from Zimbabwe and India to discuss specific opportunities.

The Indian investors could not speak to this news crew on camera at the Harare International Airport but they indicated that they are in the country for serious joint ventures in all sectors of the economy.

The delegation is anticipated to meet government officials and captains of industries in a bid to forge strategic alliances.

Zimbabwe and India have strong business ties and late last year, the Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement was ratified so as to guarantee protection of investments by nationals of both countries.
