Zimbabwe’s listed companies will start releasing full year 2016 financial results next month with expectations of a mixed set of performances.
The performance of listed companies during the just ended year will be under-spotlight with effect from February when audited financial statements will be released to the investing public.
Institute of Chartered Accountants in Zimbabwe (ICAZ) technical manager Elliot Wonenyika says the results will also provide a platform to analyse the impact of government policies on the performance of firms.
“This will really set the tone on the performances of firms,” said Wonenyika.
Grant Thornton Accountants advisory director Bulisa Mbano says company results will also reflect commitment by listed companies to comply with  prudent corporate governance policies.
“The need to focus on the growth and viability of firms in the future is really critical,” Mbano said.
While most listed companies posted above market expectation financial results for the six months to June 30, 2016, market watchers say the full year statements we help to assess industrial resilience against macro-economic challenges.
