The 87th edition of Manicaland Agricultural Show, which was officially opened this Saturday, has seen an increase in the number of exhibitors showcasing their products.

25 more exhibitors are taking part at this year’s show, bringing the number of participants to 115.

Both the new and traditional participants commended the organisers of the show which they say is promising to unlock many business opportunities.

Manicaland Governor and Resident Minister, Cde Chris Mushowe, who officially opened the show, thanked the small scale farmers for their increased participation at the agricultural showpiece.

Cde Mushowe however expressed his concern over farmers of small grains who continue to feel the strain that has been caused after the closure of big companies in the province which had provided a market for their products.

Manicaland Province has of late seen an increase in investment and according reports after an assessment of the manufacturing sector, the province has recorded between 10 to 42% increment in production.
