Cde Shamu said this in the Msengezi area, during separate meetings with teachers and administration officers from Moleli, Msengezi and Dombwe schools.

“It is the duty of teachers to explain to students how sanctions came into being and the role they are playing in the socio-political and economic set up of the country,” he said

The meeting with the teachers provided a platform for some interactive discussions which afforded the educationists an opportunity to brief Cde Shamu on issues they feel need to be addressed in order to improve their working conditions and promote a better learning environment for students.

During a meeting at Msengezi High School, Cde Shamu ordered the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) to restore water supplies to the institution after the supplies were disconnected over an unpaid US$30 000 bill.
