Preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup qualifiers are well on course with refurbishment work at the Bulawayo venues now 80 percent complete.

Bulawayo comes alive as it will play host to five countries for the International Cricket Council World Cup qualifiers at Queens Sports and Bulawayo Athletics Club (BAC).

These include Scotland, Nepal, Hong Kong, Afghanistan and the hosts Zimbabwe.

Refurbishment work at BAC is moving according to plan and Queens Sports Club is almost complete with only minor touch ups being done besides the fixing of the spectator areas.

While expressing satisfaction with the pace of the work, Bulawayo Metropolitan cricket administrator, Nicholas Nsingo called upon cricket lovers to come in their numbers to support the tournament.

Scotland and Ireland will be the first countries to arrive in the City of Kings this Sunday although the Irish are only in for warm up matches.
