Hwange Rural District Council and Imvelo Safaris have pledged to deepen cooperation towards the improvement of health care services and education facilities in the district in line with the country’s drive to ensure inclusive and sustainable development.

Hwange RDC has hailed the pro-development programmes being rolled out by some private entities operating in the area aimed at complementing government efforts in ensuring sustainable socio-economic transformation.

Addressing stakeholders during the handover of goods worth $100 000 donated by Imvelo Safaris to three institutions in Sidinda ward 8, Hwange RDC Chairperson Siphathisiwe Nyathi said private public partnerships (PPPs) remain critical in the transformation of rural communities.

“We are looking forward to deepening cooperation with the private players operating in our area in bringing about sustainable development,” said Nyathi.

The donated materials which included medical equipment, furniture and stationery were handed over to Sidinda Clinic, Sidinda Primary School and Lumbora Secondary School.

The representative of the safari operator Mr Sambulo Moyo said his entity is keen to increase its social investment initiatives in the district.

During the handover ceremony, the Hwange community was called upon to fully participate in the Communal Areas Management Programme for Indigenous Resources (CAMPFIRE) in order to fully benefit from the wildlife resources in the area.
