The Hwange Local Board has been commended for increased investments in infrastructure development as evidenced by the implementation of the current projects which include the Empumalanga Water Rehabilitation Project and the $20 million Civic Centre.
Hwange Local Board which is targeting to be elevated to municipality status has demonstrated its commitment to enhance service delivery and infrastructure development with the implementation of several key projects which include the sewer and reticulation upgrade, Empumalanga Housing Scheme targeting 2 600 stands and the multi-million Civic Centre.
Officiating the commissioning of the Hwange Local Board Clinic Matabeleland North Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Ambassador Cain Mathema commended the local authority for prioritising infrastructure development and improved service delivery.
“I would like to encourage the local authority to continue to be steadfast, creative and innovative in delivering on its service delivery mandate,” he said.
The Hwange Local Board highlighted its resolve to improve the quality of healthcare and appealed to the corporate world to complement the local authority by ensuring that the facility is fully equipped
“The clinic we are launching here today was constructed using the resources mobilsed by the council to the tune of $300 000. Our appeal is for the corporate world to come on board and assist in ensuring that the clinic is fully equipped,” added Ambassador Mathema.
The commissioning of the Hwange Local Board Clinic was graced by the local authority’s officials, Ministry of Health and Child Care representatives, traditional leaders and residents.
