znyg.jpgWith just 12 days before the 2010 Youth Games to be hosted by Harare roar into life, the local organising committee is now tying loose ends, while  the Harare team has vowed to finish top of the medals table.

 

Harare Province organising committee’s Public Relations and Communications Manager, Shepherd Chiware said the sports showpiece in the capital is expected to set the pace for future games to be hosted in other provinces.

 

After finishing at the top of the medals table at the games hosted by Mashonaland East Province last year, Harare Province is again aiming to maintain the status quo.

 

Nine disciplines which include athletics, soccer, netball, boxing, handball, tennis, volleyball, among others will be on offer at the games which run between the 15th and the 22nd of August, while cricket and rugby will be showcased as demonstration games.
