Bosso paraded most of the new players in the team with notable players being former Mwana Africa goalkeeper Lovemore

 

Makwavarara, former Zimbabwe Saints player Simon Munawa and former Motor Action midfielder Louis Matawu.

 

Double scorer Graham Ncube opened the scoring in the 36th minute and completed his brace in the 47th minute, Louis Matawu in the 42nd minute and Bruce Kangwa in the 58th minute. Michael Mageja scored the visitors consolation goal in the 74th minute.

 

Highlanders coach Mkhuphali Masuku said he was happy with the result.

 

“I am satisfied with the result since it was our first game. But they are areas we still need to work on,” he said.

 

The former champions, who finished third last season, are lining up a friendly next weekend against Caf Orange Champions League participants Dynamos as part of their preparations for the 2011 campaign.

 

Shabanie Mine technical manager Saul Chaminuka blamed the players for failing to use their chances.
