Bulawayo giants Highlanders is set to kick start its 2019 season preparations next week after the club’s annual general meeting set for Sunday.
The Madinda Ndlovu-led side could not start their preparations this week as originally planned owing to the disturbances that rocked the country but will now go into a week-long camp next week after medicals scheduled for Monday.
With a target of a 27-member player compliment, Tshilamoya lost the services of captain Honest Moyo, vice captain, Gabriel Nyoni and Newman Sianchali.
However, there has been more movement coming in with the likes of Prince Dube, Bukhosi Sibanda, former Dynamos winger Cleopas Kapupurika, utility player Mbekezeli Sibanda and Russell Chifura being the major highlights.
Besides the players, the club has reunited with its son, Bekithemba “Super” Ndlovu who was with Bulawayo City as first team coach together with Mandla “Lulu” Mpofu while Brian Keti has been roped in as a full time physical trainer.
Bosso CEO, Nhlanhla Dube, confirmed that the club was well on course with its preparations for the season and was looking forward to an even better showing this time around.
“We have almost done with our squad. Our squad is going to be about 27 players. That is the target….we have renewed the contracts of those players that we were with. We have confirmed the players who have left. We are bringing in players to galvanise. We have also added what the technical team wanted to do….,” said Dube.
It was also revealed that the club would hold its annual general meeting this coming Sunday where elections for the positions of vice chairman and treasurer would be held.
