Zimbabwe’s arts and crafts have registered a remarkable impact as witnessed by the high export demand and a ready international market.
Local visual artists and those involved in arts and craft have over the years managed to put Zimbabwe on the map with their ingenuity and innovation.
Speaking to the ZBC News on the sidelines of the recently held Crafts and Wine Fair in Harare, fair founder, Georgina Mubako said there has been a remarkable interest for the locally handcrafted products internationally.
Most of the artists who exhibited their wares at the fair use locally produced material.
Zimbabwean visual artists have always had a natural ability to work with their hands, creating objects vital to their culture.
Some of the crafts that were being showcased include fabrics, stone sculptures, paintings, home made furniture and musical instruments.
