Exhibitors and local artists say the re-introduction of the Harare International Festival of Arts (HIFA) will result in the acceleration of the arts industry growth.
There was a hive of activity at the Harare Gardens as locals and foreigners both young and old attended various events on the HIFA programme list.
Some of the major attractions that entertained people include theatre and fashion shows while the young could be seen enjoying themselves as they were entertained by personalities such as Mr Glassmen and Musketeers.
Besides entertainment exhibitors say the event has brought more business and they are optimistic that by the end of the festival they would have clinched more business deals.
Artists Albert Nyathi and Chirikure Chirikure expressed happiness on the success of the event while HIFA associate executive director Tafadzwa Simba expressed confidence that the festival has so far been a success.
While HIFA offers business and exposure to local artists, it is a place where people can go to entertain themselves and witness artistic talent by both local and international artists.
