horse-racingog.jpgEight races are carded in tomorrow’s (Saturday) race meeting at Borrowdale Race course, with the feature race being the Zimbabwe Challenge to be run over 1400 metres.

The Zimbabwe Challenge is part of an 8-race programme in the last race meeting of the year and will see 8 runners battling for honours.

Distinguished trainer Lisa Harris brings out half of the runners in the eight horse field namely: Winter’s Night, Syracuse, One Last Trick, and Sonic Barrier. Of the 4 stable companions, Winter’s Night, a classy performer which will be racing with blinkers on is the brightest prospect for a win. Syracuse and Sonic barrier however possess the ability to win.

Jet Command, a 5-year old South African gelding trained by Alyson Wright is a big threat in the race following a cracking performance in its last race. Jockey Kevin Derere will be tasked with the responsibility of steering jet Command to glory.

Gokhan Terzi’s hopes for a win will hinge on Auvergne and Richie Rich.

While Auvergne is a top class sprinter and is expected to have a say in the outcome of the race, Richie Rich on the other has its work cut out in a quest to win the race.

Airwolf from Sebastian D’Aquino’s stable completes the line up of 7 runners in the feature race. Airwolf however has to produce something special to steal the show in a competitive field. Trainer Kirk Swanson makes his predictions on the outcome.
