simon khaya moyo.jpgZanu-PF says this year’s Heroes Day is a special one as it gives time on patriotic Zimbabweans to take stock of the achievements made in fulfilling the wishes of thousands of sons and daughters who shed their blood for the freedom of the country.

Ambassador Khaya-Moyo said progressive and patriotic Zimbabweans should not only celebrate their independence but should through their deeds reflect sacrifices of fallen heroes.

He said as the Defence Forces Day draws closer tribute should also go to the armed Forces for defending the country’s sovereignty.

Heroes Day is held on the second Monday of every August in commemoration of the sacrifices’ made by thousands of gallant freedom fighters.

Several programs have been lined up for this year with the main Heroes Splash set for Mutondwe Secondary School in Mt Darwin on the 12th of August.
