Celasio Gunda won the closed singles with Modekai Dheka of Harare winning the open singles at the 2018 Heroes Darts Tournament which ended at Bindura University of Science Education yesterday evening.
The tournament followed some intense action at an event graced by elite players from the country’s 10 provinces.
One of the major highlights was the closed singles men’s final which saw Gunda of Manicaland overcoming Takesure Gondo of Midlands.
In the open singles, national team player Dheka came out tops to assert his readiness ahead of Zimbabwe’s participation at the Zone VI Championships to be held in Malawi at the end of this month.
In the ladies section, Svodai Nyika won the open singles with Letwin Svavisai claiming victory in the closed singles.
The main event was followed by a prize giving ceremony where the National Darts Association of Zimbabwe hailed the progress made by provinces.
With the Heroes Darts Tournament now water under the bridge focus will now shift to the Zone VI Championships where Zimbabwe is expected to travel to Malawi.
