The Zimbabwe Women’s Football League mid-week top of the table clash between Black Rhinos Queens and high riding Herentals Queens at One Commando Barracks was called off after visitors failed to show up.

The match was billed as top of the table clash had attracted interest from other clubs who had thronged One Commando to watch two giants clash.

No official communication was received from Herentals Queens owners Benza Brothers but reliable sources told ZBC News Herentals directors had complained about too many away fixtures.

Match Commissioner Garikai Makweza called off the match after waiting for the mandatory 30 minutes following consultations with the match officials and home team captain.

Black Rhinos Queens interim coach Chinyanganganya was left a disappointed man following thorough preparations for the game, adding that he is now looking forward to the weekend match against Air Force of Zimbabwe Swallows on Saturday.

Herentals match against Auckland in Bindura was abandoned due to crowd trouble, while another match involving Herentals Bulawayo was also marred by violence leading to suspicions that the club feared reprisals at One Commando Barracks known for strict military discipline.

Meanwhile, in other weekend fixtures Mufakose Queens clash with Mwenezana, Auckland host Mufakose at Herman Gemeiner in Bindura,  Herentals host Inline Academy,  Black Rhinos host Blue Swallows at One Commando, Werams host Mwenezana Gueens at Glen View 4 Primary,  Midlands State University host Chipembere Queens at MSU in Gweru, ZRP Morris clash with Conduit Soccer Academy at Morris Depot, ZRP Harare Province lock horns with ZRP Queens FC at Morgan High School, Cyclone Stars FC clash with Masvingo at Harare High School, Zvishavane Pirates host Barrow Street Jets at Kandondo stadium and Hearts Of Oak host Mutates Faith Drive at Barbourfields.
