With meaningful rains for good farming expected to start mid November, the meteorological services say some parts of the country which have started receiving early rains since the weekend will, in the next 24 hours from Tuesday, start receiving heavy rains in excess of 50 millimetres.

Head Forecasting Services at the Meteorological Services, Mr Tich Zinyemba said potentially heavy rains are expected to fall in Masvingo, and in the Southern parts of Midlands and Manicaland provinces, among other areas.

He said the rains are a result of a cloud system that is currently affecting the western half of the country and is expected to move eastwards to cover much of the country, while pressure rising along the South East coast of South Africa is expected to enhance convergence across Zimbabwe.
