The Head of Commonwealth Observer Mission Mr John Dramani Mahama has arrived in the country for the harmonised elections to be held on Monday the 30th of July 2018.
He was welcomed by Ambassador Chipo Zindoga at the Robert Mugabe International Airport today.
The Commonwealth is among many blocks invited by the government to come and observe the July 30 elections.
The former president of Ghana, Mr Mahama said he and his team will be in the country throughout the electoral process.
He said free and fair elections are the fundamental elements of democracy in any country.
The pre-election era has seen a peaceful environment prevailing and the only concerns raised were against some parties who have embarked on verbal abuse of women in leadership positions and those aspiring to take up the political space.
