More than 70 foreign and local exhibitors are expected to participate in this year’s 3rd edition of the International Food and Culture Festival to be held in Harare from the 27th to the 29th of this month.
Market accessibility and linkages are some of the challenges being faced by local entrepreneurs.
The food and culture festival is meant to link entrepreneurs especially women to sustainable local and global markets.
Ms Tsitsi Valerie Machingauta, who is one of the organisers of the festival, told the ZBC News that the three-day event will see participants showcasing their handmade and artisan products as well as traditional foods that support local communities.
Mr Ityai Kurebwa from the Office of the President and Cabinet in the Department of Psychomotor said such events are important for economic development of the country especially in implementing the ZIMASSET blueprint on value addition and beneficiation.
The event will see fashion shows and a number of business workshops focusing on environmental stewardship, business development and strategic planning being held.
