Hrare Sports Club claimed the Suzuki Sevens Cup after overcoming Old Georgians 19-17.

Local rugby fans were treated to some exciting sevens rugby at the Suzuki Sevens tourney which attracted 8 teams.

The sevens tourney reached a climax when the tournament hosts Harare Sports Club overcame Old Georgians 19-17 in a nail biting final that capped off an entertaining day for sevens rugby.

Zimbabwe recently qualified for the 2018 Sevens Rugby World Cup and Harare Sports Club chairman, Tinashe Shamu said domestic sevens rugby is vital in helping build a solid side for the Cheetahs.

The domestic rugby league was suspended owing to financial challenges thus starving local fans of rugby action.

The weekend tourney however gave fans an opportunity to be entertained at the Suzuki Sevens tourney.

Harare Sports Club, Tobacco, Old Georgians, Old Hararians, Police, Old Johanians and PHD Ministries were teams that took part at the tourney.
