The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has disbursed US$6 million to the Harare City Council for the purchase of water chemicals to improve water quality.

This was revealed by Harare Mayor, Councillor Bernard Manyenyeni during a tour of Morton affray water treatment plant by a delegation from South Korea in partnership with an investment group, Diaspora Infrastructure Development Group, to explore possible investment opportunities.

South Korea’s commercial ambassador to South Africa and Zimbabwe, Mr Taekil Kwon said his government has keen interest to invest in Zimbabwe.

Harare water supplies and quality have been worsening over the years due to many factors such as lack of chemicals, poor plant maintenance as well as failure by city authorities to meet the rising demand for water.
