Harare Metropolitan Province has begun consultations to brand the province as a preferred investment destination in line with the national branding strategy.

As the country embarks on a national branding strategy meant to attract investors, Harare Metropolitan Province has also adopted the initiative to strategically position itself as the country’s commercial centre with functional institutions and opportunities in all sectors of the economy.

Speaking during the inaugural stakeholder consultative meeting, the Minister of State for Harare Metropolitan Province Cde Miriam Chikukwa said there is need to take advantage of the new political dispensation to create a friendly business environment.

Different stakeholders raised concern over a number of issues including illegal settlements, water and sanitation, as well as vending.

The country’ national branding strategy spearheaded by the Office of the President and Cabinet involves the management of the country’s national, regional, and international reputation to better represent the current reality and future aspirations of the country among target audiences.
