The government has approved the recommendations to re-name the Harare International Airport to Robert Mugabe International Airport.

The airport will now be renamed on the 09th of November 2017 following the government approval, confirmed Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister, Dr Joram Gumbo.

Dr Gumbo said the renaming of the airport will also coincide with its upgrading, which is expected to commence before end of year.

The development is in recognition and honour of President Mugabe’s crucial role before and after Zimbabwe’s independence.
