The City of Harare says their bid to decongest Harare’s Central Business District will soon be achieved following remarkable progress at all three new ranks currently under construction.

The Harare City Council said the construction of Quarry bus terminus in Warren Park, Coventry and Coca Cola will assist in decongesting the CBD by year end.

City of Harare principal communication manager Mr Michael Chideme said they have been facing funding problems to finish the projects but remarkable progress has been recorded this year.

“We expect to be using these ranks by year end so that we make our city clean through decongestion,” he said.

There has been menace in the Harare CBD for the past decade with motorists and pedestrians failing to maneuver and navigate their way due to wayward commuter omnibus operators who block roads as they recklessly pick up and drop off passengers at undesignated points.
