Harare City Queens continued with their fine form powering to a 72 -19 victory over Ruwa Queens in match 16 of their Netball Super League.

The victory guaranteed they maintained a stronghold on the top of the log standings.

Despite having 7 games in hand the council team has shown character having won 15 of their 16 matches to date so far in their second season the latest a massive 72-19 hiding of Ruwa Queens.

Club chairperson Dorothy Mavolwane attributed the fairy tale success to team spirit and good organisation.

Team captain Mercy Mugwadi has been instrumental to this achievement with her scoring prowess that has earned her the current league top goal scorer title.

Mugwadi said netball has given her a job.

The team is now reputed for providing a minimum four players at any given time to the national team sides.

Meanwhile, the senior national netball team, the Gems are in camp preparing for the Pent Series set for Windhoek Namibia next week.

Five countries Botswana, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe and hosts Namibia will be participating.
