A brace from William Manondo and Edwin Madhananga handed Harare City the 2017 Chibuku Super Cup crown and a ticket into the African Safari after beating How Mine 3-1 in a final played at Rufaro Stadium this afternoon.

An otherwise lukewarm match turned dramatic in the second half when Harare City opened the pressure valves in the 66th minute to break the deadlock.

Madhananga drew first blood after a Martin Vengesai assist to put the hosts in the driving seat.

Minutes later substitute Manondo was to condemn Chikurupati to further misery with two quick goals in the 73rd and 75th minute.

How Mine got their consolation through a Peter Moyo shot as things failed to go according to coach Kelvin Kaindu’s plans.

For the winning side coach Philani Ncube and double scorer Manondo were ecstatic.

The council owned side atoned for an otherwise poor season following their victory.
