handball.jpgThe Zimbabwe Under-20 men’s and women’s handball teams have left the country for South Africa ahead of their International Handball Federation Challenge Tournament which will start this Sunday.

Zimbabwe Handball Federation president, Agrippa Sora expressed optimism the teams will bring gold medals especially with the current crop of players which make up the squad.

“With the current crop of players we have in the squad coupled with the hard work at training sessions for the past two weeks, I am quite sure Team Zimbabwe will lift the country’s flag high by bringing in gold medals,” said Sora.

The Zimbabwe Under 20 handball teams’ will take on South Africa in their opening match at the tournament, which they will be gracing for the third time.

The IHF challenge tournament will feature six countries and will run from the 1st to the 7th of next month.

Meanwhile, at a send off ceremony held in the capital just a few hours before the teams’ departure, Welfares Manager Kudakwashe Kanengoni reassured the team of continued support in all financial matters.
