The curtain has finally come down at the Gwanda International Gospel Music Festival with splendid performance from local and international gospel artists.

The annual 3-day gospel concert began yesterday with the legendary South African gospel artist Dr Tumi lighting up the stage with a top notch performance and closing the show with a bang today.

Gospel music lovers were also charmed by the fireworks display which was spectacular.

There was also a world class stage erected on Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda.

The festival saw children together with their parents braving the cold weather to come and praise the Lord.

Local artists such as Mathias Mahere, Takesure Zamar, Vocal Ex, Indonsakusa, ZCC Mbungo and Tinah Zungu stole the limelight and proved that there are a force to reckon with in the gospel music fraternity.

South African gospel artist Deborah Fraser hailed the Gwanda community for their calmness and peacefulness during the concert.

“I am very happy and honoured to perform in Gwanda. To my surprise people in Gwanda would sing after me highlighting clear that my music is well accepted. Next year I promise if given the chance would come again and perform,” said the musician.

This year’s edition was running under the theme, “The Walls of Jericho Did Fall” and was graced by over 40 000 revellers.
