victoria-falls-.jpgGovernment has dismissed allegations that it is not doing enough to prepare for the United Nations World Tourism Organisation General Asembly which will be co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Zambia in 2013 in Victoria Falls.

The Acting Director for Research, Planning and Development in the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Mr Douglas Runyowa was responding to media reports which claimed that not much work was being done to prepare for the major tourism event.

He said government has not appointed any spokesperson on its behalf with regards to the preparations for the tourism event.

Mr Runyowa urged media players to desist from creating a wrong impression which contradicts with the situation on the ground.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry has met private players in Victoria Falls to update them on preparations for the UNWTO General Assembly.
