The indigenisation implementation plans approved are for mining houses whose deadline for submission was last Sunday with information from the Ministry of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment indicating that progress has been made with big mining firms.

Briefing journalists in the capital on the progress made so far, Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment Minister, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere said major mining houses have met the deadline while small firms are yet to comply though negotiations are underway.

Turning to the financial services sector, Minister Kasukuwere said progress has been made though there are a number of challenges that are stalling the approval of the implementation plans.

Out of 175 submitted plans, 134 mining houses submitted plans which failed to meet the minimum requirements of the indigenisation laws while 38 have been approved and await the implementation plan to take off early next month.
