Gunmen have killed at least five people and wounded eight others in an attack on Kabul’s Inter-Continental Hotel in Afghanistan yesterday.

Reports say four gunmen burst into a hotel and opened fire on guests and staff taking dozens of people hostage.

Interior Ministry spokesman, Najib Danish confirmed that five Afghans died in the incident, adding that 100 hostages, including 16 foreigners, had been released.

He said at least two of the attackers have been killed.
