President Emmerson Mnangagwa says the government will stand by the Mugabe family and respect whatever decision they make regarding the former President’s burial place and date.

As the nation continues to mourn Zimbabwe’s founding father, Cde Robert Mugabe, Zanu PF Politburo members, led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, paid their condolences to the Mugabe family this Thursday.
Addressing mourners, President Mnangagwa said government will respect the family’s decision with regards to burial place and date.
“As the government, we will respect and support any decision made by the family, we will get into a meeting with Amai Mugabe and family,” said President Mnangagwa.
Emerging from the closed door meeting, Mugabe family representative, Mr Walter Chidhakwa outlined the funeral programme.
“From here we will go to Rufaro stadium, then Friday Rufaro stadium, Saturday National Sports Stadium then we will leave for Zvimba.” he said.
Further burial arrangements for the late iconic leader will be announced in due course.
