Government has ordered some individuals who are engaging in acts of lawlessness by illegally invading tourism assets that include chalets, holiday homes, cottages and conservatives to immediately vacate or face the full wrath of the law.

In a media briefing in Harare, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Walter Mzembi said if there is any takeover of such properties, it should be done within the context of the country’s indigenisation laws.

On how indigenous people can benefit from the tourism sector, Cde Mzembi said he is finalising discussions with the Ministry of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment.

Properties that have been targeted include holiday homes in Nyanga, Muteri Lodges in Chiredzi and Kuimbashiri Bird Conservancy, among others.
