The Zimbabwe Land Commission says there is need to adhere to the maximum farm size policy so that all the land is fully utilised.

Vice Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Land Commission, Commissioner Tadius Muzoroza told farmers from Mashonaland East during a stakeholders meeting in Marondera that it is important to adhere to the maximum farm size policy as most of the land in the country is being underutilised.

The commission said underfunding has stalled its operations including decentralisation of its operations to provinces and districts.

The Zimbabwe Land Commission was appointed by President Robert Mugabe last year and some of its functions include enforcement of any law restricting the amount of agricultural land that may be held by any person and periodic audits of agricultural land and ensuring equitable access to holding and occupation of land.
