farming in zimbabwe.jpgFarmers have urged government to avail input support schemes earlier to ensure that there is enough time for preparations and seed stocking ahead of the forthcoming agricultural season.
As the nation gears up for the 2011 to 2012 agricultural season, farmers expressed the need for government to unveil inputs support scheme on time to enable them to realise maximum yields.

Farmer and war veteran, Cde Andy Mhlanga said the time is ripe for farmers to start their land preparations adding that if government is to come on board it should be now.

Mazowe farmer, Cde Jason Passade said farmers should start accessing inputs for the forthcoming season adding that financial institutions should be part of the equation through supporting farmers.

With lack of adequate support from the fiscus, last season farmers received inputs support from the presidential well-wishers scheme.
