Vice President Retired General Constantino Chiwenga has told thousands of Zanu PF supporters that government is focused on improving the country’s health delivery system and currently working towards recapitalisation of pharmaceutical companies so that they produce enough drugs for the country’s health institutions.
Vice President Chiwenga was speaking at Simchembo Primary School in Gokwe.
He reiterated government’s commitment to improving the country’s health system.
Acknowledging challenges facing the country’s health sector Vice President Chiwenga told cheering Zanu PF supporters that government wants children below five years, the elderly who are above 65 and expecting mothers to receive free medical attention.
He, however, said to ensure that the free health initiative was a success government is now focusing on recapitalising pharmaceutical companies so that they manufacture enough medicines for all health institutions.
Turning to energy generation, Vice President Chiwenga said the new administration is working towards increasing power generation in anticipation of improved production from industries.
He said revitalisation of industries by the new administration will trigger an increase in energy consumption hence the need to prepare by harnessing all energy sources available in the country.
Vice President Chiwenga also urged the electorate in Simchembo to vote for President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the ruling party Zanu PF candidates in the 30 July harmonised elections.
