Government says it has a master plan to create a green belt to sustain agriculture and water supply from Zhove dam in Beitbridge.
The construction of Zhove dam ushered in a new era of hope in the dry Limpopo area.
While the huge facility is yet to be fully utilised, Vice President Retired General Constantino Chiwenga who toured the area today said government’s master plan will see a thriving agriculture when a green belt is established.
Vice President Chiwenga also said besides addressing local water supply needs plans are underway to supply neighbouring Limpopo Province with water from Zhove dam.
He also said the master plan will involve several ministries as government strives to ensure locals are involved in agriculture, tourism and environmental projects.
