The government says it is looking into the land dispute between a former commercial farmer and newly resettled farmers at Dovermvale farm in Marondera.
The dispute is affecting maximum utilisation of land.
The Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement, Rtd Air Chief Marshal Perrence Shiri, who toured Domervale farm to assess level of production and the land dispute, promised the former owners that a decision will soon be made regarding the dispute.
Rtd Air Chief Marshal Shiri, who was accompanied by Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Cde David Musabayana said he was impressed by the level of production at the farm.
In response, the commercial farmer, David Worswick appealed to the government to resolve the issue as they are willing to contribute to the country’s economy.
The farm, which initially measured 3000 hectares, was downsized to 400 hectares and is currently into maize and tobacco production.
It also has contracts with overseas companies to produce peas and Katombora grass seed and also has a Boran cattle pedigree project.
