The government is taking steps to address the challenges of unavailability of inputs and the high cost of fertilisers and other inputs on the local market.

The recent government call for individuals with free funds to import inputs is one such move aimed at improving inputs availability.

Dr Made said the government will in future use existing partnerships to boost availability of inputs which will be sold at affordable prices.

Zimbabwe is determined to strengthen food security through the implementation of the Command Agriculture Programme, which began with the maize crop, and has since expanded to include cotton, soya beans and livestock farming.
