arvs for pregnant women.jpgThe government is expecting 26 300 bottles of the second line anti retroviral (ARV) abacavir on the 25th of this month after stock levels had dwindled to levels which were almost causing panic amongst those on anti retroviral therapy.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Child Care Dr Gerald Gwinji said people on ARV will be getting at least a month’s supply of the drug.

About 35 000 people are on second line ARV’s in the country.
