The government says it has scrapped the cost of blood at all public health institutions starting on the 1st of this month.
The scrapping of cost of blood at all public health institutions was announced by Health and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa at the launch of the Zimbabwe Health Financing Strategy and Policy at Mrewa Hospital.
Due to the success of the Health Levy Fund, the government has scrapped the cost of blood which had become expensive to the country’s citizens.
Dr Parirenyatwa also said the country should have a sound domestic health financing system and not rely on donor funding.
