The government has reaffirmed its support for youth empowerment to transform the country’s economy.

This comes as the Ministry of Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment aims at the inclusion of youths in all government ministries and departments.

Youths are potential drivers of the country’s economy and the infusion of their fresh ideas into the market can turn around the fortunes of the economy.

Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda represented by his deputy, Retired Colonel Christian Katsande said the Office of the President and Cabinet supports the involvement of youths in all the economic sectors of the country.

Minister of Youth Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Cde Patrick Zhuwao said the establishment of youths focal desks will enhance coordination between youths and all ministries.

Section 20 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe provides that the state and all institutions and agencies of government at every level must take reasonable measures to ensure representation of youths.
