The government has come up with a youth development tourism facility to create employment opportunities and alleviate poverty amongst the group.

The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry along with the African Development Bank introduced the youth tourism enhancement project which has helped in facilitating information communication and technology (ICT) capacity.

The project has also helped in structuring a tourism master plan that helps in formulating domestic and international tourism strategies.

Director of the project, Mr Douglas Runyowa said the initiative is aimed at further developing Zimbabwean tourism to a sought after product as well as tourism friendly destination, with youths and women playing a critical role.

The project is also set to benefit the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) who play a critical role in economic revival.
