Concern has been raised over the shortage of dieticians in government hospitals as they play a critical role in fighting and managing eczema.
Eczema is a condition where patches of skin become inflamed and itchy.
This was revealed by doctors and health experts at an eczema symposium being held in Harare.
According to experts there is an increase on people living with eczema with dieticians calling for a good diet to fight the condition.
Health experts emphasised the need for government to employ more dieticians as they play a critical role in fighting the scourge as prescribed diet can fight eczema.
Mr Odwell Gwenga who has a child who suffers from eczema said fighting the condition requires the involvement of different experts.
Some of the food items which might trigger eczema include nuts, milk, soya products and eggs.
